Alicante Airport

The Alicante Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto de Alicante or Aeropuerto El Altet) is an international airport in the Spanish province of Alicante, Valencia region in the southeastof the Iberian Peninsula. The airport is located southwest of Alicante Altet on the territory of the municipality of El and is therefore also called Aeropuerto El Altet.

The location on the Costa Blanca makes the Airport one of the main destinations forflights to Spain. In the passenger statistics of all Spanish airports [1] it is to Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, Palma de Mallorca, Malaga and Gran Canaria in sixth place.

The airport consists of two terminals in the future. The Nueva Área Terminal (NAT) iscurrently under construction and will be completed 2011th In March 2007, also anextension of the original terminal was inaugurated. This extension has been built especially for low-cost, because the extension has no air bridges, but two only havesimple stairs to the ramp.

The airport is located about 9 km south of Alicante near the N 332 (CarreteraCartagena-Alicante-Valencia) and all coastal locations on the Mediterranean HighwayA-7 (from the north as an alternative to Alicante coastal motorway Autopista AP-7 (toll road ) and A-70 Expressway) to reach.
Public transport: Ca. Buses run every 40 minutes to Alicante and Benidorm (journeytime approx 45 minutes). In the immediate vicinity of the airport also is the station”Estación de Renfe - Torrellano. From here, drive about an hour trains to Alicante (north) and in the direction of Murcia (south). Recently there is a new line of C-6, which runs every 20 minutes from Alicante. The journey time will be 30 minutes.
